Terra/MODIS image

Terra/MODIS Rapidfire image mosaic from 0900 local time this morning, which unambiguously shows the Foundation-Support Force 34 flightlines to be free of clouds. The Terra image mosaic gradually fills in from east to west during the morning and early afternoon hours.  Imagery from the companion Aqua satellite also fills from east to west, but its morning passes are farther to the west and thus are often useful for assessing cloud cover over the coast of West Antarctica, generally for points west of Pine Island Glacier.
