KORUS-AQ is a collaborative NASA campaign between USA and Korea to study Air-Quality issues, understand pollution sources and charachteristics (e.g. urban versus biogenic), and improve satellite retrieval capabilities of aerosol properties under heavily polluted conditions and in coastal areas.
4STAR is flying the DC-8 during KORUS-AQ (April-June 2016) to measure aerosols and gases total column amounts and properties, which are necessary for the campaign science goals.
