In preparation for the launch of the Hyperspectral Infrared Imager (HyspIRI), the NASA ER-2 aircraft flew repeated patterns in California in 2013 and 2014. While the primary objective is to collect precursor datasets with the Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) and MODIS/ASTER Airborne Simulator (MASTER). However, the AirMSPI and RSP instruments are often deployed as part of these activities on the ER-2, and could be compared.
