KORUS-AQ 04/01/16 Mission Daily Schedule

PLAN FOR 4/1: 
0700 - 1700: Instrument Integration: SAGA, DLH/DACOM/COLAS, DIAL, LARGE, HD-SP2, AMS, K-AMS, K-CCN, K-SP2

END OF THE DAY REPORT:

DC-8:
SAGA: on schedule, instrument fully installed. Ongoing calibrations.
HR-AMS:  On schedule. Probe installed. Planning to upload on Monday.
HD-SP2: Fully installed, finishing work on inlet tubing & doing final checks. Planning to depart Sunday.
CAMS: ready for install this afternoon.
LARGE: ready for power.
DIAL: doing final pre-alignment
DLH: Fully installed. Departing today until 4/13
K-AMS: preparing for calibration. Pushing for upload tomorrow morning.

NOTES:
  • K-CCN and K-SP2 shipment expected to arrive 4/2 (hopefully)
  • No 1pm debrief on Saturday / Sunday.

LaRC B200: (by Craig Clekner)

  •  An operational status has been achieved, but some Flight Director/autopilot glitches remain.  Ted is very close to solving these.  Work will continue on this through the weekend in hopes of ironing it out.
  • This weekend a crew is coming in to do some taxi test / alignment work in support of Ted.  They also hope to perform the aircraft pressurization check and possibly the pitot-static cal.
  • We will not reach FCF on Monday, but possibly later on Tuesday.
  • Ball personnel and GEO-TASO are planning to arrive on Tuesday; pallet install, instrument install, & checkout will commence ASAP after FCF.  Late shifts / long shifts will be used where practical.
  • ICF window has shifted.  Potential dates are on look-ahead and could extend until April 11th
KORUS-AQ 03/31/16 Mission Daily Schedule

PLAN FOR 3/31: 
0700 - 1700: Instrument Integration: SAGA, DLH/DACOM/COLAS, DIAL, LARGE, HD-SP2, AMS, K-AMS

End of the Day Report:
  • DACOM: on schedule, power checks done today.
  • CAMS: inlet and tubing put in. Racks to be inspected/installed by tomorrow.
  • DIAL: Power check successfully completed. A few questions came up about its air compressor, an inspection is planned to address those questions (condition and integrity).
  • SP-2: Ready to install, to be uploaded by end of the day today or tomorrow.
  • K-AMS: Rack inspected, pump work completed. Calibration to be done by COB today. Tubing checked, ready for inlet.
  • HR-AMS: Minor delay. Planning on Monday morning upload.
  • LARGE: port inlet piece getting refabricated, should arrive by end of next week. Exhaust tubing installed, next: pump installation.
  • SAGA: on schedule.

NEW ARRIVALS: K-CCN & K-SP2

NOTES:
  • HR-AMS and SP-2 found that their shipments had been treated very roughly during transit. Some components were shaken loose (some seriously), fortunately no major damage was caused to either instrument. Some time was spent putting things back together, inspecting and verifying instruments operability.
  • Calendar updated (added LaRC B200 events)
  • Arriving groups get briefed on Tools usage.
  • Korean instruments in the process of clearing customs. Expected delivery on Saturday.

REMINDER: DON'T USE the United States Postal Service (USPS)  to send items to AFRC Palmdale, it will be routed via Edwards AFB and add 3-4 days. Use FedEx and UPS.

3/30 End of the Day Report:
DLH: Up and running. DACOM/COLAS powering up this afternoon. Cylinders ready to be installed. 
DIAL: On schedule. Power check planned for Thursday.
SAGA: On schedule.
LARGE: Ready for install tomorrow.
HD-SP2: Arrived today. Expecting instrument to arrive tomorrow.

NEW ARRIVALS:
AMS and K-AMS (both shipments delivered today. Teams unpacking)

PLAN FOR 3/29: 
Instrument Integration: ATHOS, SAGA, DLH/DACOM/COLAS, DIAL, LARGE, HD-SP2

3/29 End of the Day Report:
ATHOS: Fully installed, up & running, calibrated. Team will depart tomorrow and return on April 14.
DLH: Up and running. DACOM/COLAS powering up this afternoon. Cylinders ready to be installed. Team will depart tomorrow and return April 13.
DIAL: On schedule. Power check planned for Thursday.
SAGA: On schedule.
LARGE: Ready for install tomorrow.
HD-SP2: Arrived today. Expecting instrument to arrive tomorrow.

NOTE: Some shipping issues with USPS. If at all possible use UPS or FedEX for shipments to AFRC Palmdale.
