Mission Summary: 

Hi everyone,

 
LVIS completed an extended version of the SEgrid2 flight today, adding as many additional grid lines close to Kangerlussuaq as possible before returning to base. We were also able to map the K-transect, with the mapping split between the transit out and transit home to ensure accurate coverage of the sections. It was cold and clear today over much of southern Greenland, and we tried to take maximum advantage of that with a 7 hour flight in the King Air (not quite as long as yesterday though at 7.5!). LVIS and camera operated normally throughout the flight, with few impacts due to clouds throughout the flight.  Thin clouds were beginning to form on the east coast but the plane was below these for the most part.
